PURPOSE

The Vanderbilt Accelerator program is a four week, summer program offered to 75 future business school students, combining classroom learning with hands on case studies with local industries.

My product manager and I created a two person leadership team, with two objectives: build a relationship with a leading University, and gain the perspectives of fraud from a different generation and customer point of view.

The week consisted of an initial debriefing, mentoring students, developing an onsite Asurion visit, followed by a full day of presentations in the Vanderbilt Auditorium.

PARTNERSHIP

We were the first Asurion team to partner with Vanderbilt for this business intensive course.

Our goal was to keep Asurion on the radar of promising new graduates as they enter the job market.

We brought the spotlight to fraud and product, encouraging user research and design methodologies.

We also established a format that invited Vanderbilt to partner with different departments every year, providing a strategic roadmap to upcoming teams.

MY ROLE

• Co-Lead in a two person team

• Create a syllabus for students

• Recruit an 8 person panel Leadership and VPs

• Engage our COO for a Q&A session

• Mentor students during the week

• Engage marketing for a promotional video

• Define Asurion’s participation agenda

• Oversee panel logistics

• Attend kick-off and closing ceremonies

• Synthesize ideas for a backlog

• Champion the experience

• Present the story in All Hands meetings
